About Us:

Groundwork Southcoast (GWSC) is an Environmental Justice (EJ) organization dedicated to investing in the leadership of youth and adult residents from EJ communities in Fall River and New Bedford. Through leadership development via workforce programs and community engagement, GWSC advances environmental resilience that invests in individuals to create positive, lasting change in their communities. Our focus is on prioritizing community-driven action that addresses critical issues of environmental, racial, and social justice, with an unwavering commitment to equity.

We’re looking for passionate, dedicated individuals to join our growing team and help us advance our mission of fostering environmental justice and community resilience. Whether you have experience in leadership development, workforce programs, environmental stewardship, or nonprofit work, we want to hear from you!

We are seeking team members who:

  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to our mission of advancing environmental justice, community empowerment, and equity, with a focus on addressing environmental and social challenges in marginalized communities.
  • Bring a deep understanding of how leadership development and community-driven action can address the unique environmental and justice issues faced by EJ communities, helping to build a more resilient and equitable future.
  • Have a passion for cultivating an inclusive, collaborative work culture that values teamwork, community engagement, and shared purpose, all while striving for impactful social and environmental change.
  • Have demonstrable experience–either technical, operational, or programmatic–to bring to our team

If you are aligned with our values and are eager to contribute to our work, we would love to hear from you!

In the spirit of transparency, you can view more information here including details on salary. We are committed to offering competitive compensation for the south coast region. We welcome any questions you may have about this approach to hiring.

Hiring Policy:
GWSC strongly encourages individuals from the communities we serve—particularly those with lived experience in environmental justice (EJ) neighborhoods, and who are Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC), immigrants, women, gender non-binary, and neuroatypical individuals—to apply. We encourage you to express interest, even if you don’t meet every listed qualification. GWSC values diverse experiences and perspectives and recognizes that lived experience is as valuable as formal qualifications. Network-wide Green Team alumni are encouraged to express interest.
